How to measure the length and width for curtains
Our made to measure curtains fit any size of window, from bay to Georgian, small to tall. Handcrafted in England from sumptuous archive inspired fabrics, they’re the perfect way to finish a room. Once you’ve chosen your favourite pattern, use our made to measure guide to work out how much fabric you need.
Step 1
If you already have a curtain pole or track in position, go straight to step two below. If you haven’t decided which pole or track to use yet, measure the wall and mark the pole or track’s intended position in pencil, extending beyond the window by at least 15cms on both sides. These pencil marks will be the starting point for your curtain measurements.
Step 2
If you have a curtain pole, measure from one end of the pole to the other, excluding the end finials. For curtain tracks, simply measure the total width from one end to the other.
If you have an unusual style of window or require your curtains to return to the wall, please contact our customer service team on +44 (0)203 093 1848.
Step 3
Measure from the bottom of your curtain pole to where you’d like your curtain to finish (e.g. the window sill or the floor). This will be your finished curtain length.
Floors, walls, sills and poles are seldom level, so we recommend measuring the distance from your track or pole to the floor or sill in three places. Use the longest length for your curtain order.
